Glue Decoration
Posted in Nail Art | No Comments »How can I glue acrylic yarn to canvas?
I'm making myself something out of canvas, and I'd like to glue some little knitted decorations on it. What I knitted in 100% acrylic yarn, and I'm wondering if normal fabric glue would work or whether I need something stronger.
Thanks!
I would use fabric glue. White glue won't be as flexible as fabric glue. Perhaps something like Liquid Stitches.
You could also consider getting some iron on adhesive sheets used for applique, usually found in the area where interfacing is sold in a fabric store. You cut out the iron on adhesive in the shape of the piece to be mounted and then lay it down knitting first, ugly side up, then adhesive, then canvass (again ugly side up). You'll need to be careful to get things lined up well, so cut the adhesive slightly smaller than the knitting and pin it in place so it doesn't move while it's upside down and you can't see it clearly. You'll want to iron through the canvass because the heat will penetrate it more quickly and more evenly than it can penetrate the knitting. I think that would get you the best results, more so than glue.
