Case Nails

I believe it is hereditary in my case or maybe acquired but I've had it for at least 10 years. Are there any treatments available? Prescription or home remedies?
I actually have an appointment with a dermatologist tomorrow to find out what my options are for treating this condition. I have it on my ring finger on the right hand, and all of my toes. I'm pretty sure the doctor won't be familiar with it (it seems to be such a rare condition.. and a very low priority as far as any medical research is concerned) but hopefully the doc can just recommend me to a surgeon that can thwack it off.
I mean getting the nail removed(so it can grow back again normally > without the concave or the extra tissue) seems like it would be pretty simple.. its basically a cosmetic procedure.. they inject your hand so you don't feel it and snip snip
doubt theres any prescriptions that can cure it(I mean if it were common maybe they would have made something.. but its rare and probably not profitable to develop something) and good luck with home remedies.. I mean most people have no clue what it is
I don't know what I'm going to do about it.. and hopefully I'm too pessimistic and there are other options.. but my advise would be to just find a surgeon that is used to doing hand surgery
cause fixing a nail would be a piece of cake
as far as anything a doctor might want to try.. I wouldn't let them.. unless they've done it before and seen it work.. don't let them press it or cut the tip( the whole nail is concave so the problem is more than just some extra tissue)
